Gusto opened its doors in September 2003 in Gedling Street, just across Huntingdon Street at the bottom of Hockley. An old banana warehouse of 5000sq ft was transformed into a haven for foodies with a bright modern European style foodstore, restaurant and bar.

Open kitchens are the centrepiece of attraction and it is here that many items are made for the chilled counter. take-away or served in the restaurant. All home made dishes are freshly made daily, the chefs are happy to cater for special requests and customers are even invited to bring in their own cookware for filling with gourmet meals to take away and re-heat at home.

Browse around the store and you will find both local produce and  ingredients sourced from small artisanal producers around the continent. Oils vinegars cheese and hams, chutneys and fresh pestos, Inverawe smoked salmon, and really good sausage, meat hung for 21 days, gluten free and organic produce, we haven’t got enough room here to mention it all.

If you imagine that Gusto might be a bit pricey, just try us, you will be pleasantly surprised, we import a lot of our specialist products directly from source so that our customers can enjoy great food without spending a fortune.
